NEW SCULPTURE TRAIL - 'Wild about Wildlife '

Wander the magnificent Grade One listed gardens and discover the hidden secrets of Shugborough’s rich wildlife.  The Wild about Wildlife trail has been funded by Staffordshire County Council and Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Beauty.

The sculptures have been produced by students and lecturers from Stafford College.  The works have been inspired by the diverse number of animals, insects and birds which can be found on the estate.

Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
At just 26 square miles, Cannock Chase was designated as an AONB in 1958 because of its beautiful landscape, its wildlife and its history. Cannock Chase is the largest surviving area of lowland heathland in the Midlands. Lowland heath is an internationally scarce and threatened wildlife habitat.

LAUNCH EVENT & CELEBRATION 23 2010

The Sculpture trail will open on Sunday May 23 with a wildlife celebration. Wildlife groups from across the area will come to Shugborough to show visitors rescued animals, to talk about their work and to offer a whole range of family activities including underwater cameras, quizzes and even a poo identification game.
