The estate’s summer spectacular has been hailed an enormous success as major event company, IML Concerts, hosted two evenings of entertainment by big name performers in front of the magnificent Shugborough mansion house backdrop.
Around 10,000 people enjoyed the event over the two evenings and staff at the estate are hoping to attract similar acts in the 2011 season.
Shugborough group manager Liz Carruthers said: “Attracting such big names to Shugborough was a real coup for Staffordshire.
“We have a reputation as being one of the most scenic and professional venues in the region and we hope to build on this further next year.”
In the meantime, the last of Shugborough’s summer of picnics takes place next month when the estate hosts an outdoor picnic movie spectacular.
This is the final opportunity of the year for visitors to enjoy summer evenings picnicking at the stately home while enjoying the best entertainment for miles around.
The estate will play feel good blockbuster Mamma Mia on August 20 and cult movie The Rocky Horror Show (12) on August 21 on a giant outdoor screen.
Picnickers are actively encouraged to dress up and sing the night away both to the movies and to the fun Signal One Roadshow before the big features.
Advance prices are £8 for adults, £7.50 for concessions and children and £27 for a family. On the night prices are £10 adults, £9 concessions/children and £32 for a family.
Groups are entitled to a special advanced offer: Buy 8 tickets and get 2 free. A limited number of spaces for private gazebos are also available for hire at £20 each (strictly pre-booking).
