An exhibition featuring a number of Patrick Lichfield’s most iconic photographs has opened at Shugborough, his home in Staffordshire.
This latest exhibition includes images taken throughout the late photographer’s remarkable career from the 1960’s through to his last advertising commission.
One of the earliest pictures, that of Henry Cooper, was shot in 1966, the year that Lord Lichfield inherited Shugborough from his grandfather. The most recent shot was of Oscar award winning actress, Dame Helen Mirren, which was undertaken for The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in France in August 2005.
Other renowned images include The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, informal moments captured during the wedding of The Prince and Princess of Wales, Mick and Bianca Jagger, Chaplin and Brando and Marsha Hunt during her appearance in Hair.
The exhibition will be open daily at Shugborough, near Stafford, from 11am until 5pm from March 16 to October 26.
The collection of photographs will support a national photographic competition celebrating the life and work of the late Patrick Lichfield. Details of the competition will be formally announced next week.
The Estate is open 7 days a week 11am until 5pm and the exhibition will run until the 27th October 2006.
