meet the charcaters

William Bailey - Master Miller
(He thinks it's 1805.  You will usually find him in the Mill)

It will be a great pleasure to welcome you and show you the workings of the new water corn mill at Shugborough. As His Lordship's Master Miller, I am indeed preoud of both the workings and machinery of the mill itself and the products of my toils.

I can even offer you a bag of my finest Wholemeal Flour at a most resonable price.  The fine white flour I produce is, of course, only for His Lordship, his family and their guests.

As a respected servant, His Lordship rewards me with an annual salry of £39.  There are reasonable perquisites, and with my wife Annie's wages, I have no complaints to make, even though the hours are long and the flour dust can be troublesome to the chest.
