The Da Vinci Code is set to come to life as the mysterious Shugborough Estate throws opens its doors for a whole weekend of grailseeking, code-breaking and intrigue.

The estate, which is rumoured to hold a vital clue to the location of the Holy Grail, is throwing opening its doors to all would-be super sleuths with a wealth of activities, talks and entertainment to keep all the family amused.

So we invite you to immerse yourself in this mystery, and see what you can do to break the code whilst enjoying the timeless delights of the nation’s most Complete Working Historic Estate.

The weekend will feature code breaking tours, guest and keynote speakers, special secret briefings, code breaking experts on hand to chat with, plus fun code cracking competitions, prizes and activities.  In addition to the activities, the rest of the estate including Mansion House, Servants' Quarters, Farm are open PLUS licensed restaruant available for light refreshments or full meals.

 

FULL LINE UP OF ACTIVITIES

 

Code Breakers Trail:  Collect your 'puzzle trail map' and embark on your own adventure around the estate and attempt to crack the puzzle and win a special prize.

 

Children's Code Buster:  Not so tricky, but heaps of fun for kids with their very own code busting self guided tour.

 

Guided Monument Tours:  Leaving from the Mansion House on the hour every hour join our expert guide who will outline the rumour and truth behind the mysterious Shepherd's Monument. 

 

Guest Speakers & Presentations:  A superb line up of experts, authors and cryprologists throughut the afternoon of each day, taking place in the Mansion House Saloon

 

12:00pm: 'The Carthusian Connection – The trail from the Cathars to Shugborough':  MAX FIELD

Max is an author who will be outlining the research and theories behind his latest book - The Carthusian Connection - and his long journey in which Shugborough played an important part in the puzzle.

 

1:00pm: 'Knights Templar and the X Spot': FRANK ROBSON
A superb live presentation of a theory presented to Shugborough during its quest to decode the Shepherd's Monument.  The talk will show how all the elements of the monument combine to reveal the potential location of an object passed through the ages and once reverred by the Knights Templar. 

 

2:00pm:  'So Where is the Holy Grail?':  LOUIS BUFF PARRY

We are honoured to have the pleasure in hearing Canadian cryptologist LOUIS BUFF PARRY explain his theories into this fascinating question, and we also expect to hear an exclusive revelation from Mr Parry during the weekend. 

 

3:00pm:  'Exploding the Myth of the Priory of Sion':  ANDREW BAKER

Andrew's work in exploring the Priory of Sion story is well respected and here he breaks apart the theories and rumour, including insights into conversations with writers of some of the biggest code conspiracy best sellers.
